First Place award

IPMS Richmond, AMPS/IPMS Central Virginia and myself would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all the people that made this year's 2009 ODO a record success. We had 158 registrants, 621 models on display, and 45 vendors with 129 tables of excellent merchandise. We were fortunate to have a great day for late February in Richmond (including building heat!) and all managed to get home safely. No less than 24 hours later, we had 8 inches of snow on the ground!

Thanks to all the vendors (gamers too!) that made long treks from as far away as Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, and New Jersey. Dozens more came from areas closer to Richmond, VA. Your participation really made the day possible, and we were glad to have the opportunity to spend some of our hard earned cash.

The modelers made the day. Thank you to all the registrants and other club members that stepped in to help judge and sacrificed their time to help the show run as smoothly as it did. You came from not only Virginia, but from Maryland, North Carolina, Washington D.C., and elsewhere.

Sponsors, Trophies, and Raffle:

I can't say thank you enough to all our sponsors that sponsored a trophy package and/or donation to our excellent raffle. It goes without saying that Bunkie Trinite Trophies was once again instrumental in making our show a great success. As in the past 20 previous years of service, Chris Trinite and his staff has provided IPMS Richmond with top quality, state of the art, trophy awards for the Old Dominion Open and at a reasonable price.

Finally, a big thank you to the Old Dominion Open committee and Richmond IPMS/AMPS members who helped plan, coordinate, and set up this grand event.

We certainly hoped you had a great time and we'll see you again next year!
